FOURTH CONFERENCE OF ROMANIAN AMERICAN PROFESSIONALS

VESTED IN WEAVING SOCIAL COHESION

2nd Day, Professionals in Medicine and Public Health Panel, Dec. 3rd 2022

Dr. Gabriela Gheorghe is a Pediatric lymphomas and leukemias specialist with the Pathology Department at Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She has been working with Carmen Uscatu at “Daruieste Viata”, in Bucharest to establish a collaboration between St. Jude’s and hospitals in Romania to benefit Romanian children with cancer. She had a positive prior experience giving talks and supporting the annual Stop Cancer Symposium under the patronage of the Romanian presidency. This prospective relationship would tap into the outstanding resources of St. Jude’s Global Health program which established similar relationships for sharing of diagnosis and targeted treatment protocols with public health departments in more than 28 countries. St. Jude is seeking government approval and follow-through in establishing this collaboration that would provide access to the tumor boards and expertise available at St. Jude’s.
