One of the featured projects during the first day of the conference was the coordination among several FORA partners in lobbying for educational partnerships and a standardized approach to teaching Romanian as a heritage language within various diaspora community schools. Ionel Dragos Hau is a physicist with a doctoral degree in nuclear engineering at UC Berkeley and he currently works at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He is interested in educating the young generation of Romanian Americans to establish a sound scientific foundation for their future while preserving their inherited language and culture from the old country. Dragos is currently the president of Romanul Corp, a 501c3 non-profit which was established in 2011 in Connecticut as community a platform to unite the Romanian community and to consolidate its cultural and economic potential in American society. Romanul Corp aims at preserving and promoting the Romanian language and national values by organizing events, seminars and also an online Romanian language school for the children and adults.
